and while I can't be 100% sure it's the same person, I am 100% sure it's the same RC.

Does this mean the person is trying to tell me that he/she wantst he book regardless of the RC? I don't want to accept, send, and lose my credit b/c it doesn't meet the RC.

TIA for any advice!

If they want the book regardless of their RCs they should turn them off before requesting the book a second time.  If yiu canlt meet them, decline,

If they want the book regardless of conditions, then they have the option to turn of their RCs and re-send their request.  If they do not do that, I would click the "does not meet requestor conditions".  Make sure you're clicking that and not the "can not send" link.

Thanks, ladies. I just turned it down again.

I'm certain I clicked on the right button both times, b/c each time I had to fill out a section stating why I couldn't send, and the directions said my note would be sent to the requestor. Then after I wrote it, a pop-up came up that said, "are you sure your book doesn't meet the criteria" or something like that.

I am curious, wouldn't the request for the book go to the next person who has it posted on WL?

And wouldn't the next person who wanted that book be up to request it?

I would think it would change for both, unless there is only one copy?

Mine is the only one in the system, and there is no wishlist for it right now. I'm guessing he or she requested it again?

They manually requested it.  PBS sends them a email telling them that they either need to wait for a second copy or to turn off their RC.

I don't have anything to add.  I just wanted to say I like your name.

When you turn the RC down, I would state something like "My book does not meet your Requester Conditions because ________ . If you want the book anyway, please remove your Conditions before requesting the book again. If you do not want my copy, please refrain from re-requesting this book for a few days to allow time for someone else to request the book since my copy is the only copy currently available and your request will continue to go to me as long as I have the book".

Wow, I'm batting 1000 with this book. It got requested again (by a different person this time), and once again I had to turn down due to RC's. I promise my book is not in a trashed condition. I had to turn down the first RC b/c she specified wanting good covers, and mine has a small tear (but within PBS posting guidelines). The second I turned down b/c of a smell RC (doesn't want musty books) and something about "minor defects in book are OK", but again with that tear...

Arica- I love it! Do you get all kinds of mispronunciations like I do? I'm always Eureka or Uh-reekuh. lol

Melanie- That's a great response and I will def. steal it in the future. Thanks!

And I promise I'm not one of those "decline all RCs, all the time" kind of folks. In fact, this was the first time (well, first 3 times now!) that  I've ever had to decline an RC.

Arika- My name gets misprounced all the time.  I get called Eureka.  I had a teacher in high school who always called me Africa.  I get called Anika sometimes too.

Okay, this is getting a little nuts. Remember the 2nd person I had to turn down, for different RCs? Well that person requested the book again. So I explained that it was still me, still the same copy in the system and they might want to hold off until more copies are posted since mine is the only one and it doesn't meet his/her RCs. This was about a few hours ago.

Guess what I just got? Another request, which makes this the 3rd request from the same person. So I had to turn down person #1 twice and person #2 three times.

I'm about ready to take this book off my bookshelf and call it a day.

Does constantly turning down RCs hurt my standing at PBS? I feel bad doing it, but in both cases I think I'm right to say turn them down.

No.  Canceling the order will be held against you if you do it too much.  Turning down a RC is not.

Please note that there are two buttons on the RC page.  You must use the "does not meet the RC" button.  Otherwise you remove your book from your shelf and go to the end of the FIFO list.
