I noticed a book type listed as "turtleback."  What is that?

Typically a mass-market paperback that has been rebound as a hardcover.

many of the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides are turtlebacks, except in this case, they aren't HBs.  They have extended coverflaps that can be used to mark places in the guidebooks.
