I went to the library this morning to check out their book sale (not a whole lot), but Twenties Girl was sitting in the "New Arrivals" section so I snapped it up.  I've been reading it all afternoon and just finished it (yes, I am a freaky fast reader).  I loved it!  I was skeptical about the whole ghost thing, but it was totally adorable and really worked.  There were so many funny moments, and I really see this being made in to a movie at some point.  Has anyone else read it?  I'd love to talk more about it but don't want to give anything away!  I also really liked Remember Me, which, again, I thought sounded like kind of a hokey premise on the face of it, but SK really made it work.  I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

I read it sometime last week, and thought it was good.  I was alittle iffy about the ghost thing too, but she did a good job with it.

I loved it and I agree...it would be a great movie!!! I was skeptical at first, too, but it was really funny. I liked the 1920s tie-in.

ETA: I was inspired...if I dress up for halloween this year, I think I might go as a flapper :)

I enjoyed this book...unlike her Gatecrasher & Wedding Girl (I think that was her or was that her other pen name).

It goes along with her other good one Remember Me and The Undomestic Goddess (my favs!)

actually Madeline Wickham (which Gatecrasher and Wedding Girl were written under) is her real name and Sophie is her pen name

I am listening to it right now and I just don't think it's as good as her others. :( It's interesting, but Lara kind of annoys me.

Is it just me or does this book strike you as being just a little too similar to Hester Browne's Little Lady Agency series? I mean, the self-employed heroine matching clients with their "needs," the London woman dating an American man who is in London on business (AND just broken up with someone back home), the whole London tour scene capping off with the ride on the London Eye? Except for the fact that the heroine in Little Lady Agency ends up back with her British guy in the end instead of the American. Just too many similarities for me - I read LLA first so I couldn't really enjoy Twenties Girl b/c it felt like I had read it before.

I finished listening to it today. Overall, it was just eh for me. I am disappointed because I usually love Kinsella's work. Remember Me? is still my favoirte by her.

This was my least favorite of Sophie's books and I think I've ready all of them (both her real and pen names).  I wish I would have enjoyed it more since I always look forward to reading her books.  She's still my favorite chick lit author though...

I saw this discussion forum and decided to go to the library to find this book.  I did and checked it out.  I started it last night and I must say, it does remind me a lot of The Kittle Lady Agency.  I loved that book so I am looking forward to this one!
