The tales were definitely not in the Erotic genre and they were not even scary. There was more of an odd twist at most of the endings. So the best I can say is that reading the book passed a nice afternoon, but the title is certainly deceptive.

I expected more actual vampire stories, most were not. Still a good read though.

This book has gay/other scenes, not really to my liking.

I did not find this book that "erotic", but I did like the stories. Most had a dark twist, and unlike most books/stories not all of these had normal happy endings! I read this book while traveling, and the short stories made it perfect for layovers, and other time spent waiting to arrive at my destination.

From the Publisher
A second helping of blood and passion ...

Acclaimed dark fantasist Poppy Z. Brite's previous excursion into the nightmare realm of terrifying sensuality offered readers a sumptuous blood feast of unspeakable pleasures. Now she has done it again, serving up more provocative tales from some of the most inventive and accomplished writers in the field -- an unabashed exploration of shadow places and terrible hungers that's more dangerously seductive, more boldly erotic than the first.

If you found Love in Vein disturbingly dark, unsettlingly seductive, and deliciously carnal -- you're going to adore Twice Bitten: Love in Vein II. But be warned. It may be more than you can handle. It may open doors into the darkest corners of your unspoken fears. And it may be exactly what you've been secretly lusting for.

What People Are Saying
Brite's vision is sweetly savage and uniquely her own!

Not as good as the first but worth the read. Fast read only 1 story I thought was to long and confusing

Not what I was expecting... not all of the stories are about your "traditional" pointy-teethed vampires, and some of them are a little strange. The cover on my paperback is like the one shown for the hardcover... the two ladies with green & red hairdo's.

Kinda outdated but did have a couple of interesting stories. Nothing like the newer paranormal novels. Worth a look.

The cover is different from the one shown but it's the same book.
Dark erotic read.
