We went and saw it today and I was so impressed. The movie stayed true to the books. I want an Edward Cullen now! He set the bar pretty high, so now my hubby better work overtime :)

Did anyone else see it?

I went and saw it Thursday at Midnight!  I was surprised at how many teens were there considering it was a school night!  BUT, it was a work night for me, so I guess I can't talk...lol  I LOVED it!  I went and bought a poster of Edward today.  I felt like I was 16 again...LOL!

I enjoyed seeing this movie, even with all the giggling and such from all the teenaged girls in the audience. My DH and I were one of about 5 couples there. Anyway, I liked how much it followed the book and most of the actors were good, my favorite being Taylor Lautner, who played Jacob. Apparently, the movie did well enough already for the go ahead to be given for New Moon.  I hope they keep him for the role!

omg the teens....we had a security guard in the theater the whole time, and he had to yell at them twice. They laughed at the wrong times, clapped at stupid times, and would not shut up.

heidi,

That's how I got to go! I left my hubby at home with our 2 year old and took my 10 y/o daughter and made it a girls only movie with my SIL & niece. Although I think my husband was very relieved he didn't have to go sit through it with me.

OME!! (that is "oh my Edward" for any non-twilighter reading this)

I SO want my own Edward! *swoon* DH got tired of me telling him that yesterday. I was re-reading Twilight and he actually opened up the book and was reading where I had my bookmark from. (baseball part) He didn't understand why I am so enthralled with the saga and the movie.

I really am not sure at times myself lol. I do know it makes me feel young again (well, younger) and that I dream of that white, marble knight that sparkles in the daylight to also come sweep me off my feet. *sigh* I am happily married and love him dearly, however, the fantasy is just really nice to have aver 13 years of marriage with a lot of love, but very little romance (know what I mean?).

As for the movie, a girlfriend and I went to see it Friday night. Overall, I loved it. I am going back (she wants to go with me again too lol) later this week. I am sure I will spend what little money I have going to see this movie at every opportunity while it is in theaters. I want to see more of it.

There were some parts that I didn't agree with though:  STOP READING NOW IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT THE MOVIE VS THE BOOK!!!!

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!:

I hated that Bella and Charlie went to the diner. Uhmmm.. She is a caretaker. She was supposed to be cooking.

I was hoping for a better van scene...but there want anything wrong with it as is... just wanted more.

I have heard complaints about the Edward in the sun scene... I liked it. I thought he looked perfect *shrug* I mean what did they want? A subtle sparkle.. looked right to me.

I didn't like the treetop stuff.

I missed the scene of Edward stopping in front of Bella and letting Tyler ask her to the dance.

I thought Eric and Mike and Rosalie were horribly cast. Loved everyone else. (These three just did not fit what I pictured from the book at all)

Overall I really liked movie. I am going to watch it again. I will continue to swoon over Edward (and Jacob and Jasper were not half bad either... )

Regardless, I am re-reading the books (again). I will be going to see the movie as often as I can (not much granted between work and home duties) and for the first time since I was 15, I am going to buy a poster with a gorgeous guy on it and hang it on my side of the bed, where I can see it before I fall asleep at night. OME!! I think I have lost it lol ;)

I have seen twilight so far, twice. And I feel the compulsion to tell you guys that within 24 hours of the twilight release, Summit Entertainment is officially going to make "New Moon." and of course, Kristen and Rob have signed up for it. Anyhoo, I found that Twilight fans, as a whole are wonderful! I went to the midnight release by myself and found that considering we all were there for the same reason (cough- Edward!! cough) so we had tons to talk about for the 3 hours in line.

My opinion of the movie is that it was AWESOME and completly filled my expectations. The chemistry between Kristen and Rob was the best you could possible ask for when you think of a real-life Edward and Bella. But... what I thought could be imporoved for New moon:

Kristen was a bit of a bumbling fool at times. I tend to think of Bella as not incredible talkative, but she is well spoken. And there were some times when she sounded a bit stiff. Like when they found all that stuff going on at the police station, she sounded like a robot when she said "Whoah, what is going on." (I'm nit-picking, I know)

Simmilar complaint with Rob. He needs to be more confident. Some of the pivitol scenes (the fateful 1rst bio class) were almost comical because of the expressions on his face.

The special effects could use some updating. I mean the baseball game scene was awesome, but as a whole, I think we Twerds have shown that we are MORE than devoted and deserve some Harry Potter-quality special effects. (did anyone else notice that Rob's face is often flushed, which is impossible as Edward. But I almost never saw color in Kristens cheeks as Bella's often were)

They passed over a few scenes that I think were VERY important to character development. Namely, the blood typing scene, was the first that comes to mind. Also, are we pretending that Jasper doesn't have a power, or are they saving that for later? I severely hope its just a matter of that they had enough character development with Edward and Bella and couldn't really do much with the other Cullens just yet.

Other than that, I really think that they kept the message of the book. I know that was, in part, due to Stephenie's involvement. Now I'm curious as they what they are going to do with New moon, because so much of the book is very slow-moving. But I don't want them to cut out Jacob and Bella's time together as it's kinda key to Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Also, what I said about the special effects, I hope that includes how we see the Quiliete wolves.

That I pretty much agree with most of what y'all said!  I REALLY loved this movie - and I'm the MOM! lol  I took my 13yo and her girlfriends - but she and I are going to go see it again, just the two of us.  It was strange, though, to think that Edward was HOT (HOT HOT HOT! LOL), knowing that my daughter was sitting there thinking the same thing! lol  WEIRD!!!!!  It made me feel like a teen again - really.  And I know what you mean, Jessi - I've been married for 15 years - and I love the man, but I would love him to have some "Edward" moments now and again! lol
You know, I was talking with my girlfriends last night about it - and I truly believe it's just a genetic thing - women want to be cherished like that.  It doesn't mean we're weak - doesn't mean we can't take care of ourselves - doesn't mean we need a man - we just want to be cherished and adored and we want someone who will go to the ends of the earth to be with us.  Men don't seem to get that.  That's why women of every age are so in love with Edward - the way he looks at Bella is how we want to be looked at.  We want someone to be that passionate about US.  Not reality, I know - but it sure feels good dreaming about it, doesn't it? lol

Sigh.....lol

Well I want to see it....did you say 3 hours in line????  ugh.  I wonder if my 8 yo son would like it.....he is not sheltered, we have all the Blade movies.  Is it too old for my 5 yo girl, do ya think?  Must one read the book first???  I plan to get it from the library at some point and read it....

I only waiting 3 hours in line because I went to the midnight showing on thursday night/friday morning and I wanted a good seat. Along with 300 other girls and women. I think a 8 yo boy would like it because of the action sequences. (Baseball scene and the final fight scene especially). I would recommend reading the book either before seeing the movie or immediatly after, as there is a lot of character development that is lost in the movie. But regardless of the movie I'd recommend the books, because they just plain kick butt. :D

Cool....I am going to take my little boy. I might go ahead and read the book first.  The length is a bit off-putting. But maybe it'll be a fast read. I'll get it from the library next week.  I Was watching some of the trailers on youtube, the bad guy with the long blond hair so...yummy. I'd like to be his snack LOL

Ok, I have now seen Twilight 5 times at the theater (though DH thinks only 4 lol I went after a quick haircut too and didn't tell him). I am going again tomorrow.

I am addicted. It is like it is my own personal brand of heroin....

I am listening to the Twilight CD.

I bought the Edward poster and it is on my side of the bed.

I bought the little pins (buttons).

I am getting the calendar next week.

I want the Cullen bag at Barnes & Noble.

I am reading the books again.

I can't seem to let go! LOL Everytime I see the movie I like it more and more!

I NEVER thought I would be turned into a giddy twitching fool when a Silver Volvo came on screen, but I have! I practically am squealing like a teenager when I hear the music start for the Volvo scene (not to mention all of the other GREAT parts!)

Heidi- I agree.. I have never been turned on by a baseball scene until now! I just can hardly contain myself lol. I love Jasper's sveltness with the bat! and the look in Edwards eyes while playing.... *sigh*

Anyone else notice Stephenie Meyer in the diner!

I have also found that Rob Pattinson, doesn't do anything for me.... not in most of the pictures I have seen of him... but as Edward, with the pale white skin, blood red lips, dark rimmed eyes, and golden eyes... I have to remind myself to breathe so I dont pass out! I totally understand what was going on with Bella now! lol

Oh and one more thing... where did ya'll find your signature pics of the Cullens and Edward and the blinkies! I gotta have em! I even took down my dogs to get some put up lol

I finally went and saw it last night!  Had to wait until we had a baby sitter since DH loved the books as well.

We loved it!  Only thing I hated was the sweaters!!  Edward was always wearing the WORST sweaters, and Bella's sweater at the prom wasn't that great either....lol.

I thought James was sooo hot!  (Gotta love the bad boy)

Jaspers hair drove me INSANE! UGH.

But all that is nitpicky and all in all I thought it was great.  It really stayed true to the book and everyone played their characters very well.  I wish they would have done the scene with Eric and Tyler asking Bella to the dance though because it is hilarious.

My fiance took me to see the movie yesterday.  I haven't read the book yet, because I've had bad experience with reading a great book and then hating the movie.  I thought it was a bit slow, but as soon as the action picked up I was hooked.  My fiance fell asleep....he said it was the worst vampire movie he's ever seen.  I tried to explain to him that it was a romance, and a young adult one at that...but he didn't want nothing to do with it.  lol.  Oh well, I told him I'm watching the next one, and he says I can just go with my sister...at least then I won't have to hear his complaining ;x
