Inspired by the real life of Ann and William Woodward, and William's murder in 1955 by his wife. The books shows why Dunne is considered one of the best authors who write about the rich and famous criminals.\

The book is well paced, and filled with details. The charactors are well developed and the plot keeps you reading late into evening.

NOt your typical lifetime television for victims novel.

One of Dominic Dunne's first books. Based on a true story of a poor, plain girl who marries into a rich NY society family. How she tries to be accepted and fit in - and what happens after her husband dies. Dunne writes like a true insider. The book is rich in detail and description.

Interesting how the elite class lived, and died and how protective a society they were. It enrages the senses at how little they really valued each other or lives.
