I received a request from a member of the military stationed outside the United States.  I am required to fill out Customs form 2976-A.  I am filling out the form online at the USPS.com and one of the required fields is a phone number for the Addressee.  I am not supplied with this information.

Has anyone else filled out this form online and how have you handled it?

Thank you.

The phone number should be an optional field.  I've never filled out the form online, but when we put the info into the computers at the PO, it isn't required.

If it insists on a number, maybe just use your own phone number?

This is the link for the online form where you can see it is required.  I haven't tried leaving it blank or putting my number in.  I will try that.

Thanks for your reply.

I use the form at the PO since it has to be taken to the counter anyway so I haven't used the online form, but I see a lot of members who say they just use their own number.

I ended up going to the Post Office and filling out their form.  I was simplier than I thought it would be.   I didn't have to put any phone number on that form.
