I've mailed/received almost 1000 books and have been lucky to never have one go lost.
But I must admit I'm a DC junkie, as I check daily the usps website to see where my books are.
I was getting concerned because after a week one had never scanned or been delivered and it was only going from Southern Illinois to the Southern Suburbs of Chicago.
As of Monday the usps site for that DC now says "Missent" your item was misrouted and the error has been corrected. Every effort is being made to deliver it as soon as possible.
What does this mean? I've never seen this before. The address was correct and it had been taken directly to the PO when mailed. And it's still not showing it scanning anywhere.
My interpretation is the PO put it on the wrong truck and they found the mistake and now the book is being routed correctly. Go to USPS tracking and plug in the DC # -see if they have additional information - sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.
