Well, yet another issue has come up! I still have not rec'd a book in good condition from this site, and now I have another one on it's way that is not acceptable. Yesterday I ordered a book for my daughter. I then rec'd a pm from the person stating that they looked at the book, and realized that the front cover is damaged with lots of folds and creases. She said that it is also a very used book. I declined it, since it is in such bad shape and I wouldn't be able to re post it if I wanted to, and she said no problem. I expected to see that she would then immediately refund the credit, but instead, this a.m., I rec'd a message that it was just mailed! ??? So many of you have said that you have rec'd 100's of books without an issue. I don't understand what this bad luck is all about. I have sent out quite a few really nice books to people, including like new hard backs, and it just doesn't seem like the people I am dealing with are following the rules or even care. I am glad to have found this forum, because I do believe you all---that this is not the norm, however, so far, for me it is. :( I will keep trying...and I will post one of these days when I recieve a decent book! (Hopefully!!)

Are you certain it was mailed by the same person, that it wasn't cancelled by the original sender after which it rolled over to someone else? Because that's a possibility. Also - a creased cover doesn't necessarily make a book unpostable. I'm sorry you've been having difficulties. |

Yes, look at your PM's and your transaction archive to see if they are the same person. |

My thoughts too are that the book rolled over to the next person who has it posted. But wanted to add that folds and creases or even being a very used book do not necessarily make a book unpostable. |

If it's a book with multiple copies in the system, when the sender cancelled it would have immediately rolled over to someone else. That person must have accepted and mailed right away. I ordered 5 books the other day and they were all printed and mailed within just an hour or two. |

When I first was a member here, I was anxiously awaiting my first book, and the person took the whole five days, and didn't accept the order. I expected the book to be canceled (I was really new), and when I saw that it was still there after 5 days and had a new 'date' I was upset and canceled the order. Then I realized it was a different person. Felt bad and re-ordered. Take care and good luck. Pat |

Thank you! I just checked, and I think that is what happened! I never did see the credit refund, so I just thought she got confused and sent it. Wow, there is a lot to learn here. I have more questions, but will post later... |

You can go to your Transaction Archive to see the canceled orders. But please, look without touching. (There are times to mark book there, such as lost books. But it always takes a credit and cannot be undone.) |

You can also look at your Credit Registry, which is on the horizontal yellow bar on your My Account page. It will show when an order has been "passed on." |

The credit registry is set up like bookkeeping. It helps if you are familiar with that type of system. I was totally confused when I first looked there. |

Another easy hint to view your Credit Registry, which is a log of all credits added to and deducted from your account: click on the blue Credits link at the top of any page... |
