Excellent mystery by Sheri S Tepper writing under a Pseudonym. The sleuth is Shirley McClintock--Colorado rancher and former adviser to Washington mucketymucks. She's an older lady, tough as nails, but with a big compassionate streak and a lot of curiosity. Tepper's characters are very real. Her mystery is engrossing and full of twists. I enjoyed it very much.
