The author wrote this as a sequel to her beautiful "A Year by the Sea," in which she had embarked on a journey to rediscover herself and her relationships with others. I have listed both books. In this one, she chronicles the steps that formed a new union between her and her husband, one that will satisfy them both and lead them forward for the rest of their lives. I found both books absolutely fascinating reads, very honest, poignant, and inspirational.

A thought provoking book about a woman who decides to take a year off from marriage and live by the sea to evaluate whether anything can be salvaged from a marriage gone stale.

This should be read in context of Joan Anderson's other book(s) on her year of living separately from her husband and trying to figure out who she is; and then the two of them trying to re-build their marriage. Series is two or three books, all different but together they put the story's pieces together. It can be cathartic to watch someone go through what many of us don't want to look at in our own lives. Not preachy or advice-giving - it's reporting on her experiences and feelings.

Did not like this book too much. The author was just ranting on about a bunch of stuff. I got through 2/3 of the book and had to stop. Others I know rave about this book though.
