Has anyone been getting unpostables in deals? It seems I'm on a roll with getting them, and I'm almost starting to expect it. Do people feel it's ok to send damaged/unpostable books because I'm receiving some for free? All of the books I'm requesting, by request and the freebies, have all been listed on the person's bookshelf.

It is not  ok to send an unpostable book as a freebie in a deal unless you are aware it is an unpostable book. If the book was on the members  bookshelf then I would consider it postable.

Hi Jane,

That's one of the things that was bothering me. I'd think that if the book was on the person's shelf, it's supposed to be postable. I must be having a really bad run of bad luck. I used to get a bad one here and there, but lately I've been getting a lot. It's very frustrating.

That's usually how it works for me. I go quite awhile with no issues then get a string of them. Knock on wood (tap-tap-tap) I haven't had any recently.

I hope your luck turns around :)

Yes and that's why I don't do the deals in the book bazaar any more.

It really is sad that one rotten apple spoils the barrel. I have given and received several deals in the bazaar and have had good luck with them.  Some people just don't care and there isn't much you can do about it.

I do deals all the time (have one now!), but I don't use them as a way to clear out my unpostables. If I have a book that I'm not really sure about, I don't post it. The ones I've been getting aren't even questionable...they are very clearly damaged. I get most of my books at rummage sales and thrift stores, and I try very hard to find them in very good to like new condition, so I can post them. Unfortunately, I've had to start a list of people I won't order from anymore.

Yes, if it's on someone's bookshelf it should be postable.  Members have other methods of listing unpostables.
