This was a good light read. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series. The author is really good at using color to describe her scenes. I've never been overly interested in needlework, but it sounds really interesting without being overbearing.

Betsy is suffering from terrifying nightmares; thinks it might be good to get away for awhile. Dragging Jill along they head north for a "stitch-in" at a remote rustic lodge...and the nightmares get worse...

Monica Ferris' needlecraft mysteries are interesting and well-plotted. I usually learn something interesting about needlework in addition to being entertained. While they are not deep, they hold your interest. The characters are interesting and seem real and have experiences that are true to life.

This was the 1st book I ordered in this series and one of the first books I got from PBS in 2007. I started reading it and realized I needed books 1-3. You will feel better starting at the beginning too. I am writing all that to say it took me way too long to get started. The books are getting better, I am liking the characters more. I think she does a much better job of describing yarns and project than other knitting cozies. Her mysteries are fun but not easy to solve. She covers many types of needle craft so you dont get bored.
