This book is one you don't want to put down. The main character, Tillie, will break your heart. She feels so much and the story is so sad yet so compelling. Makes you want to hold your family close in a big bear hug.

This is a haunting view of a child's world where there is no "safe harbor" as she and her brother navigate between the volatility of their mother and the rigid demands of their father.
