Search - Up Island

I picked this book up while on vacation a few years ago. An online buddy had suggested this author a couple of times, so when I found this title on the shelf I thought I would give it a try.
This being a new author to me, I wasn't sure what to expect. I enjoyed reading it, it passed the time by the pool. I loved that alot of it took place in the Atlanta area so I could actually see what the author was describing.
This story was about a woman's path to healing after finding out that her husband has been running around on her with another woman. Quite a blow to her ego and self esteem. She has to learn how to live again, how to make money, etc. I am not big on novels that deal with cheating, but this was a pretty decent read.

This was a very good book! We all find out what happens when husbands walk out on their wifes for a ditz.....you go to Martha's Vineyard and get on with your life.

If you enjoy reading Anne Rivers Siddons, you'll love this one about a Atlanta woman whose world crashes down upon her, yet rents a small cottage by herself on Martha's Vineyard and finds a brand new kind of family

Very good story line with excellent characters. Anne Rivers Siddons is an excellent writer. I have read and loved many of her books. This one was no exception to that.She manages to weave an interesting story and tie in many loose ends. Molly Redwine is the main character in UpIsland. I found her to be very real. I liked the way that Siddons wrote this tale as a type of metamorphosis of a woman going through a divorce and coming to terms with her relationship with her mother. It was good! I'll remember this one for quite awhile!

Intriguing story of endings and second chances. Molly Redwine loses her husband to a younger woman, her mother dies, and her world is crumbling. She retreats to Martha's Vineyard to search for new identity. This made good reading on an airplane for me.
