i've not heard anything, and my local PO is excellent.  Going in later today or tomorrow, I'll ask.

OTOH, you could just call and ask.

It is still the same,  parcels over 13 oz bearing only stamps as postage must be presented at the counter.

Yuppers, asked my PO this afternoon.  The only restriction on packages with stamps would be the existing 13 oz. rule.

ETA - I LOVE my post office, they don't make up weird stuff like this.

That Post Office cannot do this.  If it is true, call their area manager and let them know.  This is not Postal policy nor allowed.

This is why I don't bother with pre-printed postage anymore.  I would rather print my DC and pay for postage at the PO where I can see what I pay for.  And I don't have to worry about the PO sending my packages back because there wasn't enough postage.  Nor do I have to worry with a disgruntled PO worker who doesn't feel like following their boss's rules so they make up their own.

This is true at at least one post office in Austin, TX.  In a comical show of force, they took "16oz" stickers, scratched out 16oz and hand wrote the weights of my two books on them and then proceeded to deliver them to my house the next.  My wife volunteered to bring them in the next day.  He told her the story about increased security blah blah blah...cannot put things over 13oz in the blue box(both books under 13oz) and oh I probably had the postage wrong and needed it printed there(both books showed I understand how to divide by 42 round up).
