Using PBS postage/DC is just wonderful, particularly at this time of year.  However, within the past 10 days, I've had two requests for wishlist books to addresses for which I could not use PBS/DC postage.  And I'm simply NOT going to stand in line at the post office.  So I cancelled the orders which, of course, removed the books from my bookshelf.

All I could do then was either find another member who had the book on his/her wishlist and post directly to their wishlist or just wait a few days and post my book again.

I did send a gentle pm to both requestors informing them of the problem, and told them that with so many members now using PBS postage/DC that there could possibly be a delay in getting some of the books they want.  Also, I included the http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp for them to look up their mailing addresses to see what USPS says their addresses "should" be.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?  Did you cancel the order or just use other postage?

Luckily I have only had it happen once.   I was pretty annoyed & considered cancelling as well.

I just went back and re-read the Help Center's relevant section.  It says:

"This message "electronic postage is currently not available for this address" is an error message from endicia.com, our online postage provider, and often it just goes away if the sender tries again to print after a few minutes."

So now I know that if I should encounter that message in the future that I should make a second attempt to print the wrapper.

Yes I had one like that.  I PM'd the person to ask about the address, but she was receiving her other books just fine.   I tried several times, and a day or two later it printed out.  (I did a little dance.) The problem wasn't with her address but with endicia.

That has happened to me a couple of times also.  Except in both cases, I tried it again once right after I received the msg, and again the next day, and got the same message.

I was bummed.  I cant stand going to the post office, especially during this time of the year.

It's happened to me several times. You don't have to cancel the order.  Just log out for a while and try again later.  If you choose the last possible mail date then you have time to wait if this happens.

Thank you all for your input!  Now I know to try again and again before assuming that the message is authentic.
