I got a book today that had mailing tape sticker that said recieved in damaged condition, but nothing was wrong with the book in the shipment. Strange. I think the sender's clear plastic tape did not stick to the opening end of the mailer the book was sent in. I marked the book usps damaged in shipping... just if you keep track of those things. But I said there was nothing wrong.

If there is no damage to the book then you do not need to mark the book as received with a problem, you can mark it received normally. |

I received a couple marked 'damaged by USPS' ... without any visible damage. No idea what's up with the PO on that one. Regardless of USPS markings, I wouldn't mark the book RWAP unless the book was damaged (it's noted in the sender's account). |

Yes, the PBS "Damaged by USPS" is for when the BOOK is received damaged. You can go into your Transaction Archive and select an option that says "Marked Damaged by Mistake" or something like that. That way, it won't be on the sender's account as a damaged book. PBS does not care if the packaging is damaged in mailing. |

I'm with Sara...you need to mark it "Marked Damaged by Mistake" if there is nothing wrong with the book so that it does not reflect on an innocent member's account. |

Damaged condition in USPS terms can also mean the packaging materials, thats according to our Post Office. I've had a few items sent to me (not PBS) that had the tape on it and the package itself was chewed up but the item inside was perfect. |

I agree with everyone on this. If the book is not damaged, then you should NOT have marked it as such. Regardless of the USPS sticker. Please make sure to go back in and mark it correctly. |
