This is probably an odd question.
I am being sent away from home for 6-9 months. I'd like to be able to put my account on "partial" hold--to keep my books from being ordered, but to retain the ability to use my credits to order books for myself (I have a long wish list and a lot of accumulated credits), since I will be at a stable address, but I won't be able to bring my available books already posted on PBS with me.
Does anyone know if this is at all possible?
What you can do is put the books on your wishlist you know you want to receive on auto request. The system will automatically request these books for you, even if your account is on Vacation Hold.
yes... go to your bookshelf and above the stars for rating a book you will see "all" and "hold" do that for each page and your books will be placed on hold.
That will put the individual books on hold and take them out of FIFO. Vacation Hold will keep your books in FIFO, but you'll be skipped if they are at the front of the line.
Put your account on vacation hold. Any books on your wishlist that are on auto request will be automatically ordered for you. If they're not on AR, you'll be skipped for them.
How vacation hold affects your wish list -
