I thought that when you have your bookshelf on hold that your wishlist is not on hold (if the books are autorequested). I just had someone try to post a book to my wishlist (all on autorequest) but she pmed me that there wasn't a post this book button on my wishlist. So, I took my shelf off of VH and then she could post the wishlist book to me. Why did that happen? I'm planning on putting my shelf back on hold in an hour.

When you have your account on Vacation Hold, even if your books are on Auto Request that is only for the FIFO system and no one can post directly to your shelf as it appears On Vacation.

I understood that and "THOUGHT" I discovered a way around it and now in the mist of a mess....

I did not want to send anymore books out as it became close to Christmas but wanted to still receive my WL books.

I went to my Bookshelf and marked all books on HOLD.

Well, today I went to my bookshelf and marked all BOOKS to post (come off hold)

What I didn't know was the 10 books I marked received while my shelf was on hold became part of my bookshelf when I unheld it and immediately into FIFO and will now have to cancel 10 requests and worry about being thrown out of PBS because of my mistake.

I immediately put my entire shelf on vacation, posted on my profile, PM'ed all those who now will think they are finally getting a book they have been waiting on and PM'ed LIVE Help but she doesn't understand what happened or what I am trying to say.

Is there anything else I can do? It was an honest mistake and worry about having to cancel so many requests....

Take Care,

Lisa

I am not sure why Live Help doesn't understand what happened, but you should be able to use "Contact Us" to explain what happened, if you need to.

I wouldn't worry about getting kicked out of PBS, I am sure that if they notice this, they will try to contact you first anyway, and you could explain at that time what happened.

Just cancel the requests so the people can go back into the Wish LIst line ASAP. I would PM AFTER cancelling the requests, because if people who have requested those books get confused by your PM, they might cancel the requests themselves, which would be WRONG because they won't go back into the WL line in the same spot without needing to contact PBS.

So, if you haven't cancelled them yet, I would do that RIGHT AWAY. The system will take over at that point and put everybody back in the WL line at the correct spot so that they won't miss out on the next copy that is posted. If you delay until you hear from PBS, they might start mssing out on other copies of the books.

Thanks Sara...

She did not understand why I didn't put it on vacation hold as I should have and why wishlisted books I received were now on my bookshelf.

I did not see a Contact Us but I was panicing when I realized.

So far only 2 had been requested and I did cancel them, 8 more to go but I won't be online again until tomorrow PM so I feel awful about that.

I had already sent the PM's before I posted here so I wished I posted here first because you're right.

In terms of PBS... I was contacted & under review once before (2 years ago or so) for cancellations and warned then so I am very paranoid & carefull about that. (I had pancreatis and unexpectantly ended up in hospital for several weeks)

Take Care,

Lisa
