I can't seem to find my answer in the help section.  I have had so many requests that I would like to put my account on hold for a couple of weeks but I have 2 books that I mailed recently.  Are they able to mark receive while my account is on hold?  Thanks  :)

They can. The hold will only effect what is available on your Tower (you won't lose you spot though) and your own requests (48-hour hold won't be usable, but auto-request will still be in effect).

Thanks, Renee ... My WL books are on auto so that's good to know as well!

A different question re vacation hold. What happens with outstanding unanswered wish list requests when your account goes on vacation hold?  Is there a way to withdraw the posting ?

Mary putting your account on vacation hold will stop the request from rolling over to the next wisher.  You still have to honor the request but if they don't accept it goes on your bookshelf.  When you end the vacation hold you need to put the wl book on hold if you're not ready to post.

Thank you Valerie. I leave for vacation 5/1 and that is when I have my account going on hold. Should I change it to 2 days before to prevent it from rolling over. Lately it has just been a pain listing wish listed books. No one responds and they just keep rolling over. I am trying to figure out how to prevent it from being accepted while I am away.

Yes,  you should put your account on vacation hold a little early since you have outstanding requests.

Make sure you put the book on hold BEFORE you end vacaction hold if you're  not ready to post.

I'm starting to wonder if these are members who don't know about the .49¢ fee and they are befuddled.

Thanks Valerie, I changed vacation hold to 3 days prior to when I leave. Seems a shame when there are so many members "wishing". It would be so much more efficient to just move on to an auto request. I understand there are certain situations auto request does not work. Frankly, the only one I see with validity is mailing to a different address. Occasionally my son or mother will ask for a book and I do this. But the other reasons I have been given just don't seem justified: ie. If you're out or credits put your account on hold until you get some. This is becoming just a big time time waster.

Odds are they are abandoned/inactive accounts...ultimately their accounts will be put on hold after not responding to a certain amount of requests. In the meantime, they are a pain in the butt to other members either requesting books from or offering WL books to.
