Since homeschool kids tend to miss out on the fun of swapping cards on Valentine's Day, would anyone be interested in doing a Valentine's card swap for our kiddos here on PBS? I know my son would love it...

We'd love to join in, too.  We used to do one with users of our curriculum, but we dropped out for several reasons.

I asked my daughter--she's in.  How do we do it?  Do we PM each other addresses?  Could you include your kids' ages, too?

I love the idea, but don't think my 17-year-old boys would be interested. Unless . . . are there any 16-17-year-old girls out there? Just kidding!

My 9 year old daughter would love this! We have done this before at church and with a homeschooling group but we moved a few months ago and no supportive church and no homeschool group to be found for her yet so we are fairly alone and I am sad for my daughter. She would love mail and to be able to send mail!

My girls are 9 and 12 and would love it if they could get a pen pal out of this.   Do we just PM everyone our mailing address or should it go to one person and then they forward a complete list to everyone interested?

What a lovely idea~thanks for thinking of it.

I have 11 yr old triplet daughters-2 are homeschooled, 1 still in public school (odd i know but that's what works best for them and takes their wishes into account).  Count us in! Please let us know how/when you would like to do this. Thanks!  Heidi

So much for nay sayers insisting homeschooled children can't/don't socialize. :)

This sounds cool it could even be counted toward their writting for the day. How does this work? I have 5 kiddos ages 2, 3, 5, 8, and 10.

OK it looks like we have some interest. Anything that involves swapping addresses w/out mailing out books will have to be approved by the game mod team and run through the games forum. However I'm not going to set up anything that requires a credit deposit, I don't really think that's necessary.

I'll send in a request for mod approval and then post a link here when I have a thread set up in the games forum.

This was done on one of my yahoo group.  The monitor took all of the name and addresses and ages and compiled a list.  Since the yahoo listing was large everyone got a page of 20 names.  We won't have that many- so if everyone pm's me with the childrens name, age and address- I will compile them in a list for all and send them back to each person.  If someone else is doing it and I missed a post - I apologize.

Bren's getting permission from a game mod.  I think it was three or four posts up.

I just wanted to make it clear that I goofed and misread the posts when I made the suggestion of pm the addresses and making a list for everyone.  I recieved one pm already and don't  want everyone be confused.  Bren made the suggestion and is in charge.  I just wanted to help and it seemed my help only led to more confusion.  My apologise to everyone- I will stay quiet from  now on.

Happy Valentine

Holly
