I just moved into a new house, with a new, never-used address. I can't change my address with PBS because it can't validate my address... what can I do? Right now I have my books going C/O my Mother in Law, but she's getting ready to move, too.  My local PO was clueless as to how to fix the problem.

When you order a book, you can have it shipped to another person instead of yourself. Can't you put your name and new address there until you get the problem straightened out and your books will come to you at  your new address? Just a thought.

Right now they're going to my Mother-in-Law, but she's going to be moving soon, so I'll have to change it to my Mom's house for now, thanks for the tip:)

Eileen -- if you go to this link, http://www.usps.com/ncsc/lookups/ams_office_locator.html and put in your ZIP code, you will get the address and phone number of the USPS folks who add new addresses in your area to the USPS database. They should be able to give you more info about why your new house isn't there yet. I recall somebody else posted that they had to get their county zoning board or some group like that to give the addresses to USPS before they would show up in the database and validate at PBS.

Thanks Cathy. I had talked to the County Planner and he said that the PO already has the information... I think it may be a waiting game at this point, but if something doesn't happen soon, I'm going to have to call that Planner back and find out for sure.
