I have to say that I really love this series having just recently gotten into it. I just finished the fifth book and couldn't wait to run out and get the next one only to find out I have to wait until December!!! Dang it! And it is the last book in the series! This is just way too long of a wait. Sigh. Guess I need to move on to a different series for now.

I have all of them except the one that comes out in Decemeber. I haven't read any of them yet because I like to read a series straight through. I will wait until I have that final copy before I read it!

I love this series too. Both her other adult series are great as well in case you haven't read them yet!

Vampire Academy is by far my favorite series. Hot guy and a girl that kicks butt. Love it.

As much as I love Vampire Academy, have you tried Succubus?  I don't know why but I'm way more attached to those characters.  The only difference is that those are a lot racier.  But Richelle Mead is one of my favorite writers.  All three of her series are amazing.

If you need a new series, try House of Night - I can't get enough of itII  They are fantastic!  I am also waiting on the next book to come out in January.

I have this series on my wish list, I'm #2 for the first book. It sounds really good and gets great reviews. I absolutely love the House Of Night series, I read those ones so fast. Definately read them while you wait for the next Vampire Academy book to come out.

LOL Kayla! I am hoping to have the last book read by this weekend. I'm such a dork I purposely held off on reading it for just a bit because I don't want this series to end!

I know what you mean!  I waited until January to read the newest one and then once I started it I finished it in two days.  I don't do that with any other books, but these are just such well written captivating stories and I love all the characters.

Why did the series have to end, I understand the logic and everything, but it makes me sad.

Luckily there is another series coming out in the fall in the same world with some of the same characters. Here's what Richelle Mead said about the VA Spin-off on her blog in December:

Over in YA territory, I've been working on Bloodlines through the holidays and have two more days to finish its rough rough draft. Word doesn't seem to be getting around about this, so here's the scoop. Bloodlines is the spin-off series to Vampire Academy (it's the name of the first book and of the series). It's set in the VA world but will be about different characters: Sydney (our narrator), Jill, Eddie, and one of the love interests from VA. I'm not saying who that last guy is, but it's mostly to protect those who haven't read Last Sacrifice. If you have read it, then it should be pretty obvious who the other character is.

And speaking of which...on tour, I got lots of questions/comments from people along the lines of "You never told us what happened to so-and-so" and "Why did you just leave that person hanging?" Don't worry, I wouldn't abandon you guys like that! Rose's main plot lines were wrapped up in LS, but lots of threads were left hanging--for a reason. Things left unanswered were done so to set the stage for Bloodlines. So, hang in there! Answers are coming.

14 year old daughter loves the series too, has read thru it twice ---yep even the last one she got for Christmas!  But she won't let her Vampire books go--I'll have to wait til she leaves for college I guess!

Jenna, I hadn't read that she posted that.  I knew there was going to be a new series, but I didn't know it'd be through Sydney's perspective.  That makes me really happy.  Mead's main character always has spunk.  It's pretty awesome.

Ooh. I'm excited that her new series is going to be from Sydney's perspective! I loved Sydney. =)
