What I liked best about this book was seeing how the vampire story has changed from it's very earliest incarnations (early 1800's) through the late 1980's. Authors include Lord Byron, Bram Stoker, Fritz Leiber, Richard Matheson, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, Suzy McKee Charnas and Tanith Lee.
