So, some suggestions, You could offer to show her pictures. You could describe (I'm assumming here) the packaging and if it was undamaged, tell her that it wasn't damaged, and that that is why you don't think the damage happened in the mail. You could let her know that when RWAPs are marked "Unresolved" that it will count as a double bad mark against her account. I would explain very politey that you didn't damage the book, you have never heard of anyone doing that, and that you can't imagine why she would think so. If you are extra nice to her, hopefully she will start to feel guilty about accussing you of damaging the book. |

Thank you so much Sara. |

I'd like to say that some of the spines on the new paperbacks are terrible. I've had some brand new ones where the spine comes loose from the glue. I think the publisher is at fault with some. I can see the pressure of being mailed might be a last straw for some of these. But even with that, rude responses? Argh. Vent away. |

I have received five paperbacks that were separated from the covers. And they were all very new looking MMP. I think that the glue holding the darn covers on is giving out before the book even gets read much. I gorilla glued them back together and they seem fine but I did not repost them. |

I gave that some consideration too b/c I've had that happen too. I'm not so sure this is the case tho, perhaps I didn't described it correctly to the sender. I'll post pics below and see what everyone thinks. |

I've had a few bad experiences with RWAP's too. Once I had a guy refuse to give me my credit back until I mailed the book back to him and he recieved it. At least he didn't accuse me of doing the damage myself though, that would really irk me! |

I think that's what irks me the most! I mean, come on. I found a spot in the Help Center saying they don't interfere with swaps, but if someone is being rude you can let PBS know and they will act accordingly, so I did that. Being that rude was very uncalled for. |

That book is cleaved. That is not postable here. |

Yes Amy, no doubt about it, that book is in bad shape. It is definitely unpostable. I have had a couple of rude people but they finally gave me my credit back and I marked them resolved. I don't understand how people can send books out this bad and deny that there is a problem. One time I received a book that had to have been dropped in a water puddle and laid out to dry. You can just imagine how brittle, wavy and wrinkled the pages were. She wrote me that she didn't believe that the book had water damage and that we would never see eye to eye on the condition of the book. She continued to tell me how unhappy she was with how the transaction was unfolding (what about my unhappiness?),she was getting a headache over it, and wanted to forget that the transaction ever took place! I offered to send her pics(she didn't want them) and told me she's received books with wavy pages, etc. No, that book was dropped in water and laid out to dry. There were even water stain lines. I gave her a certain date to refund my credit and she did. Funny thing is that I saw her in the BB posting about 20 unpostable books for free just the other day. |

Hey! My last RWAP person accused me of the same thing. It was water damaged and she accused me of doing it myself to get a free credit. Um? OK? Damage a book myself? That makes sense. I told her she is delusional. |

You know, all this drama and upset is not worth 1 credit. Just return the credit and move on. There are always the bad apples and it doesn't make sense to let them get to you. |

I'm over it... Ahh ha, so that's what cleaved means, ha I have been wondering, and no I didn't think it was postable and wasn't trying to. I was trying to get the other member to look, but of course she wouldn't. So whatev, what else can I do except get over it. Colleen-I half way wonder if it's the same member, that'd kinda be funny! |

I've seen some small imprint tradesize that have the pages section of the book seperating from the cover, think it's a quality control issue. Since the 'pages' section is solid and intact, this situation is easily corrected with a good quality glue. Good luck with the rude grouch! |
