This is the second time this has happened to me... so here goes.

Today I received a book in the mail- paperback copy of "Whoreson" by Donald Goines. Never heard of this book, never ordered this book, honestly never would order this book- it's just not my genre.

So i figure somone mixed up books- nope nothing on my list coming from a James or from Nebraska.(James if you're reading this send me a pm!!)There's no paperwork included in the book, no packing label and the address is handwritten so no clues there. I went and checked my transactions page- both received and cancelled, just in case. I went back 2 months and I have not ordered a book from Nebraska at all! Then I checked names- maybe James was traveling or in college and used a different address as the return. No, no James on any lost, missing or cancelled transactions. I even checked transactions that were completed, just in case a mailing label got printed and then mistranscribed.

Nothing. Nada. Zilch. There are no transactions involving James or Nebraska in months- certainly none involving  both.

The last time this happened it was the same situation. Though that person did see my post and got a hold of me so that one worked out.

I'm just getting really curious how people who I've not had any transactions with at all are getting my address. Twice! If it was a simple mixup no problem, but this is very weird!

So if anyone has any suggestions before I email Rand R(hate to bother them but... )I'd appreciate it, but I've checked everywhere for clues that I can think of.

Thanks!

Maybe James is psychic and figured out your address that way!  :)  No, sorry to say, I think this has to be directed to R&R.

The ONLY other thing I can think of is maybe someone ELSE ordered a book for you and had it sent directly to you.

I've done that for friends.

I didn't consider the friend option- but considering that this book features  whoreson jones  who" by the age of 16 he is a full-flegded pimp, cold-blooded and ruthless...."  I'd have to consider friedns with very strange senses of humor!

Thanks for the suggestion though- I'm probly gonna give it a day and see if J. frequents the boards, then bug our great and wise founders!

Laurie, we have sent an email to the James we think this is asking him to contact you about this book.   He doesn't have a nickname so it is easiest for him to contact you by PM.

We want to reassure everyone that the system won't permit an address to get attached to the wrong transaction--not even with a  computer glitch.

If you would like to ask about the other mystery book you received, please send in feedback and we will bird-dog it.

We like being called great and wise, by the way. :)

Well look at that- a few compliments and you get some great service around here! : )

I'm not too  worried about the other book as that was all straightened out, just puzzled.  Thanks for the help everyone!

I had something similiar happen to me with another boxer. I recieved three childrens books I had never heard of in exchange for the five I sent her. She told me she sent me the correct books and had never heard of these books herself. So I have 3 kids books I dont want and nothing from the boxer for the other two books that would have kept the exchange at least even in numbers.

Hi James here...want to thankl Laurie and apologize for sending her the book...it wasn't really to my tastes either but i heard about the author on a radio program and it was the only book in system, so i checked it out..wasn't too happy with it but am glad to have reposted it and found someone who was...

Strange how the USPS can really screw things up..but hey what else is new with the US governmant???
