I love funny YA books but sometimes they turn out not very good.
Can people help me out?
Two of my favorites are
Sleeping Freshman Never Lie by David Lubar.
Girl, 15, Charming But Insane by Sue Limb.
So can someone help??

From E to You by Chris d'Lacey and Linda Newbery is probably the funniest YA book I've ever read. It's written in emails between the two main characters, Annabelle and Guy, who start discussing their parents' odd behavior and come to some pretty bizarre conclusions. I remember kind of liking Sleeping Freshman Never Lie, but I can't recall if there are any similarities in the humor. Recommended regardless. |

I've been reading some great funny YA books lately. SWIM THE FLY by Don Calame - In the style of "There's Something About Mary," a freshman boy with some crazy friends tries to impress a girl on his summer swim team by swimming the worst stroke of all. SPROUT by Dale Peck - A recent GLBT YA release, about a gay boy's character development. THE ACTOR AND THE HOUSEWIFE by Shannon Hale - Will be released soon, basically a novelization of a smart romantic comedy. The dialogue is great, and the book will make you crack up laughing and break down sobbing. Highly, highly recommended. Umm, those are all off the top of my head right now. Good luck! |

The Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series is hilarious. Louise Rennison is the author. I think thy are all pretty heavily WL-ed here. |
