Some of you may know that I had a stroke several years ago in my early 40’s. I started writing the story about two years ago, but never finished. It was a little painful to write. I finally got up the courage and motivation to finish and posed it on my OpenSalon blog.
It’s called, How to Survive a Stroke Without Really Trying, subtitle: (or how I fell in love with my husband again).
If you are interested, the story can be found here:
It’s short (only about 3000 words). If you'd like to read my story, it can be found at the above link on OpenSalon. OpenSalon is a free site by the publishers of Salon Magazine.
If you have time and are so inclined, I also appreciate comments on the OpenSalon blog. you just have to register with your email address and password. They don't send you any spam and you will find tons of other interesting blogs there as well. I’m trying to raise awareness of stroke in middle-aged and younger women so others don’t make the same tragic mistake I did. The more people that comment on and “rate” my story, the more people are likely to read it in the future.

I commented, Claudia--thanks for sharing your story so beautifully!
I hope you don't mind--I tweeted a link to your story, and also posted it to a loop I follow.

Thanks for reading and thanks for your comments. It was a difficult and emotional story to write, but I'm glad I finally did. Started it 2 years ago, but didn't finish until recently.
