Has anyone read this series?  I came across the first in the series, Signs in the Blood, while I was cruising the stacks at the library last week and it sounded pretty good.  I like Appalachian folklore, music and history so I thought I might enjoy this book.  If you are familiar with the series, what did/do you think?

Leeanne, I've read all four in this series and enjoyed them all. A fifth book, entitled The Day of Small Things, is reportedly coming out this fall or early next year. Something just draws me to a mountain setting--especially the Appalachians. I loved Sharyn McCrumb's Ballad Series and became interested in Vicki Lane's books when I learned of its similar setting. Vicki Lane has a website and blog.

Thanks, Anna.  I'll give them a try.  I read Sharyn McCrumb's Ballad series (or the first few novels) years ago and really enjoyed them.  Then I picked one up by her that was awful and I gave up.  Thanks for the rec!!
