Has anyone read her Children of the Sea trilogy? Its Sea Fever, Sea Witch and Sea Lord. I was thinking of buying Sea Lord but I'm wondering if it can be a stand alone or would I be too lost if I tried to read it without a history? |

I read the short story prequel (Sea Crossing) in the anthology, Shifter, and liked it; I bought Sea Witch because of it. Selkies are new to me, and the shifting into seals took me back (don't know why, because shifting into wolves, panthers, dragons etc seemed OK;) I'll read it next, and let you know if there's a cliff hanger, but I'm sure others know more/best:) |

If the prequil is in Shifter, I've probably read it :-) Otherwise, I read the first in the series (Sea Witch?). The writing style was quite good, so I actually enjoyed it more than anticipated. The hero of book #2 doesn't look interesting, so I'm procrastinating. Book #3 looks more interesting again. Stand alone...probably would be ok. Don't remember a cliff hanger, IIRC the book comes to a conclusion for the main couple and that portion of the plot. |

Thanks Denise. That's what I was hoping for because book 2 just doesn't really appeal to me. |

I read book 2 first - and actually didn't mind it at all - made me go out and find book 1 and I'm looking forward to book 3. Not the best books I ever read, but enjoyable reading, not too deep, and different story lines with the selkies. A new author for me this year - and I did like her. |
