I enjoyed this book but must say it is at the bottom of my list for Koontz's work. Usually when I open up a book by Koontz, I can't put it down. He has this sneaky way of making small chapters so you always say "One more chapter. It's only a few pages". And that continues on and on throughout the book. This one didn't make me feel that way though (at least at the beginning). I didn't start to feel that way until more than half way through the book. Then it did pick up but not like I was expecting. It still was a good book. One that still lingers in the mind long after it's over. I do recommend it but if it's your first Koontz book, don't let it be your last.
I loved this book. Not easy to put down - the phone rang twice while I was reading this, and I didn't even hear it! Finished it in 2 days, even with my busy scheduale. I recommend it.

Colin was fascinated by Roy - and Roy was fascinated by death. Then one day Roy asked his timid friend: "you ever killed anything?" And from that moment on, the two were bound together in a game too terrifying to imagine...and too irresistible to stop
