It did the same for me, but Barb's post has the right link. I added a book too. Let's limit ourselves to adding just one or two books to the list at the most, but vote for all the books you would be willing to read. Last Edited on: 4/26/12 5:47 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Yeah Carole is right one or two a month is a good way to go. Remember we are going to have a new list in thirty days so you can add others to it. Also, it's good to see early participation. I added a book but I guess it got eaten by the internet. Off to add it again.

I thought The Kite Runner was awesome and I really love Indian fiction but I can see how it may not be for everyone. I think the concept that everything has to be happy and nice and tied in a cute bow at the end is very American and I don't buy it. I like foreign stories that don't always work out for the best and don't have clear good and bad guys. I'm just really tired of all the old stories, we've been doing so much history stuff. I'm not sure about The Road, I want to read it and I have it but I need some motivation to pick it up. I can't tell yet if it's my kind of thing or not. edit: Actually Thousand Suns isn't Indian, it's Afghani, but I have the habit of lumping everything in that area together. I never was any good at geography. And they all seem to have the similar problems at least on their fiction. Last Edited on: 4/27/12 1:52 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I have read a Thousand splendid suns and I would say it was one of the best books ever. I have also read just last month Savannah Blues. Then I mailed if off in the reminder swap.
So I havent voted yet cause, should I vote for something I have read? or havent read. I didnt add any books, but I think if any of you are in the oldy but goody Box you might find some good ideas for highly rated books. You dont have to sign up to go over and peek. |

Go ahead and add a book or two Heather, everyone is welcome to join and your selection might end up being the one that gets the most votes. |

Added a book, The Devil in the Junior League. I thought we'd like something funny and light after Five Quarters and Historian. I have read this book before, and would love to read it again. I also found a bunch of great discussion questions for it. Truly, it is hilarious. |

I voted, but I didnt add any new books to the list. I will add a book next month or time to vote. |

Please remember when adding books to be sure that there are enough copies in the system for all of us to order. You can check the number of copies by adding the book to your reminder list, then looking at your list. You will see how many copies are currently in the system. All binding types added together should be at least 8. |

That's the worst part, I have all these good books I want to add and none of them are available. |

hro, Far to Go is wishlisted, can't be a selection because no one can get it. |

Heather, thanks for adding Prodigal Summer. I read the synopsis and I want to read that whether or not it gets to the top of the voting list. Was at the UBS today, and they had a hardback of it! Whoopee!! So, thanks for putting it on the list. |

By coincidence I found The Witch of Blackbird Pond and The Road at a Goodwill this week. I was happy to add them to my collection. |
Sorry! I didn't know the rule. |
Can I just say I appreciate everyone adding books and conversing here? Even when I don't get the books read I enjoy hanging out here. |
Me too, Deb! And I get good ideas for books to read even if they aren't chosen by the group as a selection of the month. |
I have gotten a few of the books on the June list either from Bookmooch or a box of books member here. Just in case we read another of the books next month. |

It's good to see new participation and early votes with this list. |

Swinging by to wave at the Basement Book Clubbers! After a colleague's medical emergency, work turned into my life. But after 4 months of overtime, I am happy to announce that I am a human again. I may not jump back into the book clubbing right away, but I voted on the list and liked a lot of the new titles. See you around, chums! |

Glad to hear things are back to normal Dw. |
Relatively speaking. Won't want things to get so normal that they are boring. Is that the three stooges in your profile pic?? |
I thought that the dancing people were from a JImmy Stewart movie, not the 3 stooges. |
Maybe I've got the Stooges on my mind since there's a new movie out about those yucksters. |
