The list to vote on is open to the public for voting and editing so if you want to add a book to the monthly real time discussion list then go ahead. It is located in my profile or you can get to it through this Link.

Looks like A Reliable Wife is pulling ahead, so I ordered a copy.  Maybe this time I can get it far enough in advance to get it read in the time frame this time.

I ordered a copy a while back because after adding it to the list I just decided I wanted to read it whether it got voted for or not lol.

While I haven't ordering Five Quarters of the Orange, I feel the same way about many Joanne Harris' books. I've only read Chocolat, and just ordered it's sequel, but she's been on my TBR for a very long time. Why I never get around to her, I don't know.

Sorry I haven't been around for the last couple of days. Every one in my house has a head cold and I've felt puny for days. A Reliable Wife won the monthly discussion with 8 votes. Summer House Discussion begins on January first.

So sorry. We passed that around our house just before Christmas. Except for feeling lousey, it was a great excuse to get out of parties we didn't want to bother with.

I just replied, "Yea" to your genre of the month idea Chris. Another simple way to break ties on the voting list, or to shake it up in general, is to pick a random number. You could do the top 3 or do the whole list. I'm game for just about any direction. My main reason for reading-along is to break my rut of history and self-help books. Too much self-help turns out to be a bad thing.

Me too, I tend to stay in the same genre all the time.  It is nice to have a goal to break out of the rut and expand my reading horizons a bit.

Ok, so what is next to read in Feb?  I need to order it now so I'll have it by then.  I saw a couple of interesting choices not yet on the list, so I'll see if there are copies available and add to the voting list.

A Reliable Wife is the book we are reading right now the book to read in Febuary hasn't been pinned down yet. I generally announce what has the most votes on the 24th of each month so that everyone has time to vote on the book.

I did add three more possibles to consider to the voting list.  All have lots of copies available in the system.

Looks like Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks might get the most votes it has seven now (technically eight because it won't let me vote on the books I've added to the list.)

I am looking ahead to March.  The Room looks to have the most votes, but it also has a 800+wait list.  And I know we said something which is a little lighter might be nice.  So get out and vote folks.

I vote for Bitter is the New Black, or Comfort Food.
