I just recived 2 books in the mail yesterday.  One of the books looks good.  The other book from the outside looks brand new.  When I was flipping through the book you can see where 4 pages of the book had not been cut apart in the process of making the book.  So someone seperated the pages.  While seperating them they have made small tears into the pages.  There are a couple of tears that are long enough to be in the words.  Would you post this received with a problem?  Was this book really postable?  I don't think it is but just wanted other opionions.

No this book was not postable if pages are torn. The guidelines state no torn or chewed/gnawed pages.  http://www.paperbackswap.com/help/search.php?terms=book+conditions

I would mark it received with a problem and politly pm the member asking for a credit back for the book.

The book was unpostable according to the guidelines.

That said, it sounds like the damage isn't too bad. Personally, I don't think I'd request a credit refund.

If it was cut and torn it should not have been posted, instead it probably should have been returned to the publisher. Often you contact them they will send out a replacement book for free. Not sure how old the book is, but it may still be worth a shot to send the publisher an email.
