GRRR! The building where I work did a spring cleaning and they left a pile of freebies in the lobby. You know: coffee mugs, magnets, hats, post-its, keychains, etc. Most are old free gifts with company/brand names printed on them.

There was also a small pile of books and I was told I could have them all since most of the other employees already had a copy.

The books are all the same and they're wish-listed. At this rate, I'll be posting one copy at a time for the next 6 months.

Ok, rant over.

Just a guess, but maybe to keep one person from holding several spots on the FIFO line.

If it is wishlisted, you just need to mark them mailed and you can post the next copy. Might not be the nicest for planning PO trips, but you should be able to get a couple posted each week at a minimum.

I imagine it's built into the programming as a safety measure to keep members from accidentally duplicating their postings, and then the subsequent headaches there would be from canceled orders & WL offers, etc.

I don't know, but I was in the same boat recently, ended up with a box of books that were given for a bonus to somewhere, and we had to do the one at a time thing.  Like Melanie said, you can get atleast a couple a week posted, but it still is kinda aggrevating.  But, in the long run the credits will be nice!!!! :)

How long did that take Sherry? I wish I could mail at least a few together. Having to wait until each one is marked mailed before posting the next one is making me itch. I hate visiting the P.O. even more than folding laundry... and only slightly less than cleaning the cat box.

Can't she post them in the wishlist multiples thread?

Or just start a new topic in the Bazaar?

That's what I was thinking - start a topic in the Book Bazaar saying you have X number of copies of a book, then you can post them directly to people's wish lists.  I think that would work, wouldn't it?

Not sure if that would work. What I would do is post one, once it's accepted, print and mark mailed right away, then post another and do the same thing.  I would PM with a simple "I have multiples of this book that I am trying to mail in one trip but I can't post the next one until I mark this one mailed".  Then let them know you will mail the book in a day or two.

Also since you are a printed postage user-You could just print the postage out and stick one in your mail box each day. Or if you have to use a blue box, print the postage but put it a day or two ahead.  Then you have a few days for hte next one to be accepted.

But I like the idea of posting in the BB or the genre forums WL thread and asking for people to autorequest them.  You can post in the thread that you will have to mark them  mailed right away to be able to post the others.  Then you can get some requests right away and they will already be informed that it might be marked mailed a couple of days before they actually are mailed.

Or just start a new topic in the Bazaar?

The Book Bazaar rules state no offering of postable wish list books there and the WL Multiples- Only thread is for shipping mulitples to one address so I don't think the Bazaar would work.

I would check the Genre forum for the books to see if there is a WL thread there that you could post to.

I would do as Mary suggests and print and mark them mailed to get the next one posted. As long as you get them mailed within 48 hours you'd be OK. Or PM them an let them know what you are doing and that you will get in the mail by X date. Just make sure to put your postage ahead if you use printable postage.

Even if I could offer in one of the other threads, I don't know how well that would work. This isn't a best-seller novel. The book is about, and is written specifically for, teenagers with ADHD. Probably not a book the general population would be hugely interested in.

LOL of 3/4 cats. :)

Because of the plural, I thought she has 3 or 4 cats...maybe one comes and goes! cheeky

Or maybe could be 3/4 cat and the 1/4 is something else? cool

some one else did post to the forum when the had multiple books and they said they could not post to multiple peoples wishlist for the same book.  I think they did try, so they just had extra people buddy the credit and tell them the mailing address.

But if it is not a long wish list it might be hard to find the folks who want the books.

I guess if you could find the person in some way you could set up the books with a manual number in pbs. Or just set-up the manual isbn and put a tag on the original isbn to try to get those folks to find your ones set-up as if the did not have an isbn.

IIRC - her profile says that one of her cats is missing one leg.
