When a wishlist books comes up, and then the transaction is canceled by the sender, the book SHOULD be placed back on your wishlist with you in the front spot, right? I just went through my wishlist (for a different reason) and found TWO recent examples where that didn't happen. The transaction was canceled by sender, and then the book didn't go back on my wishlist. So now that I have put the book back on my wishlist, I am at the end of the line again. I'm sort of miffed. Anyone else had this problem recently? Do I have it wrong?

No, you are correct. If the request was actually canceled by the sender (not lost in the mail), then you should have gone back on the wish list. You should use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page. Give the book titles and ask if they can figure out what happened.

Not sure how far back the OP is now but, Julie J. in your case it could very well be that when you were put back you were put in the #1 spot and someone else took their account off of Hold and they went back to their spot or someone's book went lost and they went back to their spot...when you go back you go back to your previous spot but, that might not always be #1.

When the WL spot is in the top 2 or 3 it is possible that you were put back where you were and it will look like you went backwards. Either, as Christy says, someone (or more than one person) that were ahead of you in the WL line could have taken their shelf off of hold. Or there may have been some people in front of you with RCs that were turned down so that you were offered the book while not actually being in 1st. Another possibility might be that someone ahead of you just had the book go lost and they got their place back in line. All seem to be odd coinsidences, but they all happen.

It is also possible for the OP that there was only 1 copy in the system.  Until that book is requested it goes on your reminder list.

Can anyone verify that the system is actually glitchy in this way? Has this happened to someone else, in a way that is definitely a mistake, and not just potential vacation hold timing? I feel pretty confident that something went wrong, but if no one else seems to be having a problem, I'm willing to admit that it might be my mistake....

I haven't had any problems Michelle J. but, just out of curiosity how far back on the WL did it put you or did it put it on your Reminder List?

Michelle - if you contact the site through the Contact Us link below and tell them the transaction, they can look to see EXACTLY what happened.
