I have a problem and don't know what to do.  A book on my wish list became available and I requested it immediately.  The member clicked he'd mail it by a certain date, but then this morning I received a pm from the member where he apologized, saying he changed his mind and had to remove the book from his shelf.  I noticed my credit still wasn't returned so I reminded him to cancel the transaction on his end.  He then pm'd me telling me he couldn't because the cancel link was gone because he had already accidently marked it as mailed.  He doesn't know how to fix this and either do I.  I told him if I cancel it on my end, I will lose my place on the WL.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I'm not upset over the mix-up & understand accidents happen, but just don't want to lose my place on WL.

I would write to R&R right away...or better yet, request that the reluctant sender write to R&R explaining what happened and you could write a follow up note to them.

The sender needs to contact PBS and let them know he's marked the book mailed but he isn't mailing it.  Only they can step in at this point and undo the transaction which'll return your credit and put you back to #1 on the WL.

Ok, thanks guys. I kind of thought that would be the only option, but wanted to be sure I wasn't missing an easier way.

once he marked it mailed no one can cancel the transaction except R&? (since the other R is gone!)

bummer that he changed his mind!

Well, I couldn't find where to send my email (I could only find a feedback section),  so I went to Live Help to request the correct department or person that might be able to help me.  The email I received back was not very encouraging.  She never told me who I could ask for help and said that I'd have to wait up to a month for the book to be marked as lost.  Doesn't seem quite fair to me, as I have now lost my #1 position in that WL line and also temporarily lost my credit.

Thanks everyone for your responses though.  I just have to hope that the book doesn't come available within the next month.

I think waiting a month for it to go lost is just one solution but it's not, by any means, the only one nor is it the one that would satisfy me if I was in your position.

I would still contact R&R - on live help you're talking to the tour guides who don't have the authority nor the ability the site owners (R&R) do to cancel things. I'm surprised the tour guides simply told you to wait when the sender admits the book was never sent.

You can contact R&R by going to the contact us ... or help .... I can't remember exactly where it is. I'll go check and edit this post. OK - click on the help center and actually go to the page (don't just use the drop down). Click on Contact the PBS team and go to feedback.

Thanks Susan!  I have just received good news.  I did send an email to the place you mentioned and the other member also did.  He just pm'd me that PBS notified him that  I should be getting my credit back & will be placed back on the wish list.  Hooray!
