Has everyone seen the WL changes?  What do you think?

you scared me for a min there. I like it, though I wish it still said how many wishers without me having to click on the book

Yeah I didn't like that change either, Ashley.  I really like that you can see when the last time a book was posted. Though I don't know if that is only for FIFO posting, or if it includes private postings to people's WL.

Sorry Ashley didn't mean to scare you.  I have to laugh at the number of weeks it says I have to wait for a book - 236 weeks, 134 weeks, 103 weeks.

On another thread someone mentioned that all the books are set to auto request now, so you have to go change it if you don't want that.

eta- it seems even when you change it, it goes right back to yes

I particularly liked this addition: Insufficient data to estimate when you'll be offered this book. Translation - go buy the book because you ain't gettin' it any time soon! LOL Joanna

Well that's annoying. I really hope they fix the Auto Request thing tonight. I would really rather not run out of credits while I'm sleeping!

i like that i can see my position and when (or whether) it was last posted.  i don't like that i don't know how many other people are in line.  clicking on a book to see how many wishers is not reliable (perhaps only updated once a day or something?), so this makes it difficult if i'm trying to find out if i'm last or not.  [like when i'm looking for something i can bump off my WL to add something else.]

i hope they fix the autorequest thing soon.  i set my RCs based on how long the book has been out, or if it's a hard one to get, and all autorequest leaves no room for that.

I don't know if it's just me, but I like the fact that all of the books are on auto-request, because now when you post a WL book and the person doesn't have it on auto-request, you don't have to wait days for the person to accept the book or for it to time out and go on to the next wisher.

I noticed that in a lot of cases the "insufficient data" line comes up on books that have not yet been published.  Which makes sense....

They may not fix the auto-request thing--on the swapadvd site, all of your wishlist is automatically on auto-request and can't be changed. I shouldn't have a problem running out of credits especially since most of mine say insufficient data  blah, blah, blah...

lol this is too funny.  knowing how long it MAY take to get a book is hilarious.  Some of mine might as well say, "don't hold your breath" or "pigs will fly before you get this!"

BTW I read in the help section about another proposed change to the wishlist... something about priortizing books: books you prioritize more highly you will get sooner and others later.  Does anyone know if this is going into effect too?

Check all your wishes!  I had several new books pop up on my wishlist that shouldn't have been there.  Two books I had posted to other people back in 2005 were sitting there auto-requested for me when I just went through the list!

I miss that we can't see the total number of wishers too.

I just checked mine.  Lol-- one says 638 weeks  -- I guess I should think about buying it.  It is kinda depressing looking at the wait times on some of these....

Well, it seems they do have plans to overhaul the wishlist system - look at the "what's new" information at the top right of this page, next to the "home" and "logout" links.

It's going to be just like SwapaDVD, which I really dislike. It's fine if you have say 5 books on your wishlist but with over 150, how am I supposed to decide which I want to take priority??!!

I hope this is some kind of bad "April Fool" joke but I don't think so .......

I think they are going to make a LOT of people unhappy with the new wishlist system.  I know I am!!!!

At swapdvd you do NOT have to have your dvd's on auto request.  I have all mine on 48 hour request, cause i usually have to transfer credits.

I just went through and scanned -- 95% of my wishes have "insufficient data" to guess when they think the book will be offered!  9 out of 195 have an actual time listed!   OK, I'm scewing things by having a lot of future releases listed, but that's pretty funny.

I like the new system. I think that they are still working out the kinks.

I moved a bunch from my WL to my RL to make sure they didn't auto-request.  Its nice seeing the date posted, etc. but I'm not sure I will like all of these changes :(

None of my WL is on AR. I never switched it either.

Hmm all of mine are on AR. I am going to see if I can change it back. I am not a huge fan of the changes only about a handful of the titles have actual times listed and now I am just more depressed that I will never see any of these books. I think I like now knowing. Also I hope they don't make us start 'prioritizing' the WL like on Swap a DVD, much too hard to do when you have 200 books listed.

I can't imagine prioritizng the 200 books on my wishlist PLUS (if all the proposed changes happen) then those of us who have wishlists that spilled over to reminder lists?  Well, one of the proposed changes is to have NO Limits on the wishlist!  so, conceivably, we could be trying to prioritize wishlists of 300 or more!  (who am i kidding.. mine will be longer than "War and Peace")  *G*

To all those who said they preferred not knowing (the estimated date part of the new w/l)  I agree!  I am just gonna ignore that part!  Too depressing and encourages too much temptation to just go to amazon.
