I have a posted book on someone else's wish list. So there's a wish list hold. The 48 hour hold has renewed itself twice. Does that mean no one else is able to request the book? Thanks!

By the way, I'm going to try to PM them to find out what's going on, but I'm still wondering if that item is unavailable to others.

It is renewing itself to the same wisher? The system should be passing it on to other wishers as the 48 hour holds expire. The first person in line cannot do anything to stop the book from moving on other than to order it. Once they let it expire, it will be removed from their WL so it shouldn't even cycle back to the same person if it is a short WL. If it is in fact the same wisher, I'd PM R&R to find out if the system has a glitch.

So maybe it's just on it's 3rd time to a different person?

I guess I just assumed it was to the same person each time, but it gets moved on to the next person in line?

Yep, it does.  You should be able to see the cancelled ones in your transaction archive.  Each person has 48 hours to respond, and then the book is offered to the next person on the wish list.

I checked out my transaction archive and it didn't have any of those offers on it. Anyplace else I can check?

I don't think these appear in your transaction archive because they are not completed transactions.  If the wait time starts again though it does mean that it was offered to a new person.

I agree with Diane - I believe that the 'canceled' because a wisher didn't respond 'transactions' are no longer listed in your canceled transactions log.  At least, my most recent experience with wishlist books that timed out was that they weren't listed.

The only way to really keep track is to hit the "PM" button and see who the requester is.  Then after 48 hours, check again to see if it's a new requester.

As for the other part of your question, I'm thinking the book is not available to others (non-wishlisters) as long as there are more people with it on their wishlist.  It just goes from one wisher to the next, until it runs out of wishlist people.  Right?

Ok, got it. And it's on to the next person! Holly
