How do you go down in your position on your wish list? For example.... I was in positon 131 this afternoon and when I just looked (wishful thinking i'll get the book sooner) I was in position 133.

Its been explained to me before that if someone's shelf is on vacation hold and they return and take it off  hold that your position can change.  While they are on hold the numbers reflect that they are not in line but when they return they go back in line and must have been ahead of you.  Hope this makes sense.

Another reason it can happen...if someone ahead of you gets a wish granted, but there's a problem with the swap--either the book goes lost, doesn't get posted, or is marked RWAP, then that person will be put back in their original place in the WL--bumping everyone behind them down a notch.

Esther,

Not to change the subject but I saw on your WL for A Black Dagger Brotherhood  book.  And I just acquired Lover Unbound and have not read any of the other books and wondered if I can read it.  Or do I need to read the earlier ones first.?  Let me know if your familar with the series.  You can PM me about it  if you want.

Thanks,

Janice

The Help Center explains it pretty well:

Why did I move *backward* on my Wish List?

This happens when another member who was "ahead of you" in line previously (and who got an offer of the book already) gets back into line, for one of several reasons:

  • The member's Wish List book never arrived, and was declared lost in the mail
  • The member's Wish List transaction was canceled by the sender
  • The member had had her account on hold, and has now returned from vacation and unHeld her account. She will go back into line at her previous position when she does this: if she was "ahead of you" before, you will move back a space.

Please be assured that we would NEVER put another member ahead on the Wish List without good cause--in order to go ahead of others on the Wish List, a member MUST have Wish Listed that item earlier (on an earlier date) than they did.

Janice: I can answer that.  I would read them in order. I just read the 1st 2 and I think they will be better understood in order.  The stories of later couples in the series were already being set up in the 1st 2 books. There is already stuff going between Zhadist and Belle and Marissa and Butch.

Spolier Alerts! (sorry for those who already read my posts!)

Mary you're correct but as far as the major story goes they really don't run from one book to the next. Tohorment doesn't reappear until book 6 and then your not sure if it's really him until chapter 39.. Yeah the shellans are set up one book before but only minor things transfer from book to book like the story of the Lessers. John's story is really about the only one that really goes from book to book, but she explains it well enough to understand what happened in previous books.

As I said to her in a PM, you COULD read them out of order just a few things would confuse her.  Lover Unbound is about V and Dr Jane, while V's story is told in the other books, it's explained in depth during book 5. Now it if she was talking about Lover Enshrined I wouldn't advise reading it, only because book 6 is about Phury and a lot is set up in Z's story and V's story. Her books  set up to where if you wanted to you COULD read them out of order. For me they're aren't any cliff hangers like most series, she usually explains very well in each book. Book 6 (Lover Enshrined) is really about the only book so far I would say you really needed to read all the other books to understand.

But thats JMPO.smiley

Oh and as far as the brother and their shellans once their book is over you really don't hear much about them after that. After I read Butchs story I haven't read much about him since. But as far as Z and Bella only real reason you read anything about them is becuase Z is Phurys twin. Wrath and Beth aren't talked about much other then Wrath being king. Rhage and Mary aren't talked about hardly at all after their book. As a matter of fact I haven't heard about Mary OR Melissa since their book. Beth only comes around cause she's the queen.

Maybe some spoiler alerts on the posts that explain the later books in the BDB series please???? Those of us with the series still in our TBR would like to know that you are going to reveal things that happen in the later books so we can skip your posts.
