ok had a book on the WL, on autorequest I was 1 of 1 wishing, it came available this morning I was notified that it would be sent asap.  Then I was notified it could not be sent, why I don't know other than the member is no longer an account holder.  Fine.  So I got the email telling me that no book today an when reading it I was puzzled over this sentance:

If no one else is wishing for the book right now, you will find it on your Reminder List. You can add it to your Wish List when this copy has been sent out to another member.

The email went on to say: If another person was wishing for this book when this request was declined, and the book was offered to that person, the book has been put onto your Wish List. We will monitor the system to see if this book becomes available in the future. If it is posted, we will notify you first before making it available to other club members.

Shouldn't it be put on my WL if that is where was regardless if I was the only one or if there are 100 other people, because the system or sender cancelled not me?  I checked and it was put back on my WL.  So is this an error in the email or is something going to change?  I am guessing this is the generic email sent out regardless of who cancelled, since I didn't decline.  Just a bit confused by the first part.

Tammy, do you have Requestor Conditions?   When you get turned down for RCs, you cannot order *that* copy of the book.  If no one else was wishing, the "sender" would get to keep it on their bookshelf and you wouldn't be able to WL that ISBN until their copy had been requested.

Tammy, fearing I might have have been quite clear :-p  I went to the HC and got part if the RC information:  (of course, I don't even know if you have RCs, it's just all I can think would be the problem)

This section assumes that the book has been declined due to RCs:

  • If this is a Wish List book
    • and there are other people Wishing for the book, the requestor goes back onto the Wish List at the same place "in line" and the book is offered to the next Wishing member.
    • and there is no one else Wishing for the book, the book is removed from the requestor's Wish List.
      • the book goes onto the requestor's Reminder List
      • the requestor will not be able to Wish List the book again until this copy has been sent out to another requestor (and there are no active copies in the system).
  • This permanently declines this copy of the book to this requestor:
    • the requestor will not be able to re-request this book from this sender, even if Requestor Conditions are then toggled to "No" in the Account Settings.
    • The requestor will need to wait for another copy of the book if there aren't any others available at that time.

I had this happen to a book on WL.  I went in, took off my RC and then logged out, logged back in and requested that book again... It was accepted and sent with no problem.

Nope no RC for me, as long as they meet PBS guidelines I don't care, so that isn't it.  When I click the member's name it says he no longer has an account so I am guessing either he did something wrong or he mis-understood the concept of sending his books away permanently.   If he was still a member I would have PM'ed and asked why   Fustrating to say the least but what can you do?

I was more concerned about being put back on the wishlsit, I was but the way the email read implied that I wouldn't be.
