Okay, if you do not opt to have your WL books automatically reserved for you, how do you know when someone else puts them in the system?  Do you get a message?  I just posted a book that is on 4 people's WL, but it doesn't show "awaiting request" or any other message.  Why is that?

It is possible you posted a book that has a different ISBN # than the WLed version. Those are not held, but the system send a message to let the wishers know another version is available.

If you did post the ISBN that was WLed and it is not in the WL tab, it is most likely on Auto-request. Those stay on your shelf with a little grey (!) next to it instead of the check box on the right hand side of the screen.

I listed it using the ISBN.  I hope someone sees it!

They will. PBS will send them an email saying their wish has been granted. Hopefully the person who was first on the list is an active member (not one who will get swept away when PBS does a cleanup) and may just be away from their computer. Remember, they have two whole days to accept your offer, so it may be a while. I know I personally am obsessed with getting WL offers and can barely control myself how fast I respond saying YES PLEASE MAIL IT TO ME, haha, but not everyone is! Just give it a little time. Did you check your "My Account" page? If so, you should have a tab that says "Wish List Holds." If your book is NOT on there, it is NOT on 4 peoples' (or anyone's) wish list.

It's not on there, but it said that four people had WL it when I posted it.  Why the discrepancy?

Could be a number of reasons...  The four people with it on their WL could have their accounts on vacation hold, they could be looking for a different copy (binding, edition, etc)...

What book is it? We can see if it shows on your public bookshelf or not.

Maybe when you checked to see if the book was on the WL, you typed in only the title? And 4 people want that TITLE of the book. When you listed it in the system, you listed by ISBN as we usually do. But YOUR specific ISBN is *not* the one they want and is commonly available in the system? Could that be the discrepancy?
