Yes, it was apparently a VERY big secret....  I know that she really didn't want to take any chances of it getting leaked at all like Midnight Sun, but I'm really hoping that she's getting over all of that and going to finish it......

OK, so I too am very excited about this new book.  Also, I think she has sound reasoning both for writing it and for publishing it.  (If you didn't read the article, it's bc of the actors in Eclipse playing the newborn vampire roles asking her so many questions, about what their new lives would have been like with Victoria, etc, and what started out as a short story ended up being over 200 pages long.....)

<deleting post that started needless debate>

I'm not a fan of James Patterson, either.  I don't think he writes half the books he's credited with (though I do believe he has input as it's his "brand") and the writers who do write them get very  small billing (though he is decent enough to give them any credit at all).

Because I don't run into their stuff everywhere I turn!? It's literally EVERYWHERE. As I said before, I can't even turn on the news without hearing something about it. That's not true with all the other authors you mentioned.

ETA- I am not just talking about the books being everywhere. I am talking about the pins, the hats, the movies, the cardboard stupid cut out things, the shoes, the bags, the shirts, the jeans, the LIPSTICK (seriously) and all the other Twilight junk that is flooding every single store.

Just because theres "stuff" everywhere doesn't mean you have to buy it or even look at it for that matter. You can't just bypass it in the store without a  second thought? I mean, if your not interested thats fine but you don't have to be bitter about it. Aside from all that, we're talking about a book here, not "stuff". Its been years since a new book in the Twilight Saga has been released.

I'm not into buying all the "stuff", but I definitely enjoy Meyer's books & will be buying this one.

For anyone wanting to preorder it's only $7.68 + Free shipping on betterworldbooks.com. However I've never ordered from them. Have any of you? How was it?

Its been years since a new book in the Twilight Saga has been released.

Only about a year and a half since Breaking Dawn.

I have to say, the Twilight phenomenon is one of my favorite things to poke fun at.  (Yes, I've read the books, and The Host, and I saw the first movie, which was IMO even worse than the books.  I'm done.)

Um? Melissa? I was answering a question Kim asked about why people are so sick of hearing about it. Any of it. I'm definitely not bitter, but I do wish it would fade away. It will. In time.

No. I don't hate her. But I do think her writing is absolutely terrible. The Twilight series was laughable. I was seriously hoping it was a joke. It was that bad.

The Twilight movie was even worse.

Leann - I've used Better World Books and loved them! I would recommend them. They also usually have a lot of books for cheap with free shipping. :)

I have never used Better World Books...  I pretty much do all my ordering from amazon...  I do like that she is donating 1 dollar of every copy sold to The American Red Cross... such a fitting charity!!!  I must admit, some of the paraphenalia that I have seen has been quite ridiculous... but I do have an "Edward" bookmark... LOL....  Oh, and I did eat the candy... LOL...  my mom put it in my Christmas stocking.... I do also enjoy the movies...  but I've never found a movie that truly lived up to a book it was written about... no matter what the book/movie....  Books are ALWAYS better...  creating the pictures in your mind is the best part....

Books are ALWAYS better...

I agree with the for the most part.  There is one or two movies I like better than the book, and there is a few the I enjoy just as much as the book, but many times the book is much better.

I thought the Twilight movie and book were about equal in their melodramatic cheesiness.
