I really need to cut down on my PBS books they are taking up space I could be using for other books.  So I am going to extend this one time offer to ONE person.  Any 60 books (that's right I said 60)  for 20 credits.  That's giving you a total of 40 FREEBIES !!! So the first person that gets in touch with me saying they have picked out 60 books and have 20 credits the deal is yours!

If my math is correct, that's 2.5 books per credit.  Well, good luck.

Shannon, thanks for posting that!  I was getting worried that Alzheimer's was finally kicking in for me! LOL..

Dana~I bet more people have 20 credits than you imagine.  For instance, I'll have 24 once all my books are marked arrived.  But..sorry Meredith...I need 60 more books like I need a hole in the head!   But good luck!  You never know what might fly until you ask!

Hey, Shannon M., the original offer was 50 books for 20 credits.  So it was 2.5 per credit.

Yeah, she changed her offer. It was 50/20. Why are you all picking on her and the deal .... did I miss something (outside of the fact that, yeah, it's not realistic)? I've seen stranger deals/posts in this forum! lol

If people do not like her deal they do not have to take it.  Some of the comments here came across as a little snide... maybe that was not intentional, but they did seem so to me at least.

I have a lot of extra credits because most of the books I want are wishlisted and I am sure that lots of other members keep a large reserve.  However, we'd have to be identical twins separated at birth for our tastes to be similar enough that I'd want anyones entire shelf.  :-)  Good luck to ya though.... you might find the right person for this!

I too would take her up, I have more than 20 credits, unfortunately, her shelf doesn't contain enough Fantasy fiction, and that's all I read. If I was a diversified reader, I'd take it in a heartbeat. But I'm an OCD kind of person, and it shows in my reading.

Yes I did increase the deal only cause I hadn't any bites yet.  and I might just increase it again. Also  some of you coconuts (yes I said coconuts trying to be POLITE here some of you should practice good manners more) have got to get yourselves more books seeing how you have nothing better to do but be cruel and leave mean comments on peoples post.  What one person considers good doesn't mean everyone does. And I TOTALY get that.  I've seen offers that I don't find attractive or appealing but you don't see me wasting time making rude comments !!! To each their own.  Seems to me you have all this free time to be crabby patty then maybe you should take advantage of a large book offer to keep you busy.

Thanks for the positive comments from those truew blue book lovers with open minds and kindness !!! hugs for you all !!!!

I too do not understand the rudeness.  The offer is there.  Take it or leave it.  No commentary needed.

I am another one who always has more than 20 credits available.  It isn't as rare as some folks seem to think.

I may regret jumping into the fray, however what may have set some people off in this offer is that it was called a "deal of the century" . The original 2.5 books for 1 credit was an ok deal and the revised deal of 3 for 1 is a good deal. Considering that some people offer 4 for 1 on a regular basis and 5 for 1 and 6 for 1 are seen every few days, this is certainly not the deal of the century. Combine that with the number of credits being requested and we've seen the result. I actually only see two comments which are rude/snippy. The majority of people are reacting to whether or not they have 20 credits.

I'm sorry your feelings were hurt Meredith.

We've all seen how fast the 'front page' of the Book Bazaar moves along.  If you don't have a snappy subject line, why would anyone want to look at your offer?  People are always trying to be creative, catch someone's eye and interest, and market their bookshelves.  I see no problem with that.  So Meredith used "Deal of the Century."  It certainly got some attention, and hopefully she made some deals because of it.

Is this TRULY the deal of the century? Literally??  Well gosh, probably not.  If someone clicked here, and was disappointed by the deal, move on!  Why be rude about it?  I've seen some other threads here that are "strange", including one started by the CrankyPants up above.

I'm just sayin....

Well, Vicky, you yanked the words right out of my fingers.  Nice to see so many coming to someone's defense for a change.

A good thing, though, all these posts just put the offer right back at the beginning of the page.  So let the Crabby Patties come on in.

BTW, I always have way more than 20 credits.
