When you order a book and it says "waiting for member" how long do you wait.  Will the system go on to the next person who has it, or do I need to cancel and reorder?  I ordered it on 7/15 and it's been 3 days.  I'm just wondering.

Thanks.

It's usually 6 days - it seems to start for me at 5 days and so many hours.

PBS gives a person 5 days to respond to an offer... after that it will time-out and your book will automatically be ordered from the next person on the list.

I believe you can cancel an order if you get tired of waiting, though if you re-order I am not sure if it goes to the next person on the list or not.. maybe someone can confirm what happens if YOU cancel an order?

Hope this helps...

That person has 5 full days to respond. If you ordered it on the 15th, it should time out on them during the night of the 30th. Your order will automatically roll to the next  person in the FIFO line. If you cancel and reorder, your order will just go back to same person because they get their place back in line on a cancellation. Just be patient and you'll get the book. Some people only mail on a certain day, so they let the order sit a few days and accept once it gets within range of their PO day. If it is an inactive member, the book will be removed from their shelf and after too many missed orders, their shelf will get put on hold so they don't get any more orders.
