Just curious....are we notifiied when a wishlisted book we post is not ordered by the first wisher and goes on to another wishlister?  I've been sitting for what seems like days waiting to hear if the books I've posted (and were wish-listed) are actually wanted.  I'm sure it's passed the 48 hours I was told I might need to wait (on both books), but I don't think I've received any other messages.

I understand I'm doing the site a favor by letting my books pass along through the wishlists (and hopefully clearing out expired wishers).  Just wondering if there's any way to know the status as I wait.

Okay....correction.  I see that one has simply dropped from its wishlisted status, so evidently it either timed out on the only wisher or went through all there were.  Still waiting on one, though.  Bummer too.  I was so excited to be posting what was indicated were two wish-listed books. :^[

Oh well, that probably means someone else will want them soon.

Books on auto-request for WL don't show up in the WL hold tab so it is posible that the one that disappeared is still WLed, just in a 2 1 hr buyer's remorse period. You can tell that by looking at the book your shelf; to the right where there is a check box for books, an auto-requested book will have a grey (!). When you hover over that it will tell you it has a 1hr hold on it.

The system doesn't tell you when a book passes on to the next wisher, you will only be able to tell by the change in the date and time on the WL hold.

I find that books just off WL will usually get requested right away again. Often the person that missed the offer comes back and requests it.

eta:I know that, my fingers just didn't listen :P

It's a 1 hrs Buyer's Remorse period.  WL books are held for 48hrs and after that they pass on to the next person in line or go on your shelf.  Time outs will not show on your transaction archive.

No, but you should notice the date and time changed when the request is passed on to the next wisher.

Funny how so many books are put on WL's and then forgotten or abandoned.  It's why I quit reading WL'd books to repost.  I read 2 just for that reason and both of them went through several WL's without being accepted and then just sat on my shelf.  That's because there are so many members here that the activity must be mind-boggling.  And there are members who join, post, get their 2 free credits and then disappear. Now I just read what I want and if it's wanted when I'm through then hurray!  If not - no biggie!

I agree with Ruth. I have been reading books in the order they come in for the most part. I have a bunch of bookshelves, and the books get stacked on them as they come in. Sure, I can make exceptions. I know a lot of people will scream "I only read WL Books!!!!!" but well, as you can see, even a WL book doesn't guarantee a request. Read what you want!
