Fulfilled

I'd like to order this book.  Please PM me if you are willing to throw in a popular mystery / thriller as a 2 for 1 package.  (I'll even take a post-1999 Grisham :-) )

Thanks,

Steven

Steven, you and about 100 other people want this book. I'm not one of them, but would be annoyed as heck if someone "jumped queue" after I had been waiting. But thats just me. :)

I'm showing 95 copies of the paperback available in they system?

I'm looking for someone who has it on their shelf but doesn't want to wait to get to the front of the line to unload it.  I'm not trying to jump ahead of people on a wish list?

If there are no takers, I'll just order from the first person in line.

The Memory Keeper's Daughter :: Kim Edwards
ISBN-13: 9780143037149 - ISBN-10: 0143037145
Copies Available: 95

I think Steven is confused, actually.  I am reading this post as he thinks he is doing someone a favor by taking the book off their hands in a deal, so they don't have to wait in FIFO to get rid of the book.  When, as you say Bernie, LOTS of people want this book, so it is unlikely they are having trouble getting rid of it or are wanting to do a 2 for 1 with it.

I could be reading it wrong, though.

I think you are going to have to wait just like everyone else, Steven :  )

Maybe I am confused.  As far as I can tell there are an abundance of copies available?

Hmmm, no, I see it is available...see, goes to show how fast things can change, this has been a big WL book for a long time!  Good luck finding a deal, then!  : )

There seems to be a copy of Memory Keeper's Daughter available in the system. I just looked it up and you can actually ORDER THIS BOOK. So if there are so many people wishlisted, how come they are not ordering this book? Just my opinion.....

I played around with the search function, and if folks forget to put the apostrophe in Keeper's, it comes up but only as a WL hardcover.  Put the ap. in and Steve's pb version comes right up as available with lots of copies.  Maybe that's why folks are missing it?

Thanks Katrina.

And I'm guessing the functionality to alert users when a similar copy is available in the system isn't working because of the apostrophe.  So there are 95 people wishing for a hardcover and 95 copies of the paperback available.  I bet we could make a lot of people happy if we could get it corrected and send out an alert to those who have it wishlisted.

Of course, that won't help me get a deal :-)

I sent in a book edit on the hardcover that adds the apostrophe.  Don't give up hope for your offer.  I have made offers here before that took awhile for the right person to find them, but they always do.  You can bump your offer once a day, so keep trying!

I just got Inez of my Soul off somebody's shelf-- there's a little Spanish mark (sorry I took German in highschool) on theirs in the name Inez and it was just sitting there, even though i had been 39/60 for a looooong time on the WL. i was like "Sweet!"

It is always worth it to try several diff ways if there's an apostrophe, or a THE, AN,A in front of the name.

It doesn't look like Steve is trying to get around the WL system, he is giving incentive for someone to get around the FIFO system and send him the copy of the book in a deal when they may be 90th in line to trade the book. I think both are frowned upon here, but if someone is willing to give the book away...

Frowned upon!! Then what would the point of the Book Bazaar be?  Isn't the entire point of the Bazaar to get around the FIFO process and unload your books faster??
