Bonjour!

I'm very interested in hearing about any books on any aspect of French history either in English or in French, including but not limited to: biographies, memoirs, diaries, local and regional history, all varieties of social history, city history and cultural history (as well as traditional political and military history).  I can't promise to take all of them but I'll seriously consider any of them.

Thanks for reading!

Hi Robert:  I have an unpostable titled Louis XIV and the Greatness of France by Maurice Ashley (has underling) that I would be happy to send with any order from my shelf.  Checking your WL I have a copy of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz, if you are interested.

I've really enjoyed Daniel Crozes' books.  The ones I read were historical fiction based on the Aveyron region/people.  My favorite was "Le Café de Camille",
but I also enjoyed "Le Pain Blanc".  I don't know if they exist in translation.
