A good Read. Few complaints...
A strong story with no ghosts of mistresses past or threats of mistresses future on the Hero's part, so that was a a big plus. There was an unanswered question or two and a few things the heroine did made me want to yell at her, but not beat her senseless (so another plus right there :p )
There was a minor minor side story as well, but it was mostly told through the Hero and Heroine's point of view, which made me like it more as the focus was never taken off them and their story.
Although it was published years ago, this was as good as, (or even better in some cases) then a lot of current historical romance reads. Definitely looking forward to my next EE novel!
On a side note another reviewer mentioned thinking this was similar to Julie Garwood novels, I just wanted to say I respectfully disagree.. I've read all JG's historicals, and while they're good, I thought The Warlord was actually a step above them.)

I really liked this story. It reminded me a little bit of Julie Garwood's medievals. I liked the characters, the heroine was sweet and true to the time period. The hero was alpha without being a brute. I enjoyed this story and recommend it.

In the age of knights and ladies when power could be seized simply by marrying the lady of a vast estate. One of 3 in a series written by this author. Great historical with moments of hilarity and moments of touching pathos. I loved the book and highly recommend to all.
This book was bought new in 1996 and has been kept in great condition. PM me with any questions. No tears or water damage. No writings on pages or torn cover. Spine will show a bit of creasing as I have read this book several times over the years. I keep all of my books in a smoke free home and take good care of them.
